🍰 Cake Care Guide

A few gentle tips from Madame Socquet to help you enjoy your cakes at their very best.

All of the cakes produced at Madame Socquet Cakes and More are handmade with love and care. Please follow the care guide below to ensure your product makes it to its destination safe and sound.

🧊 1. Storing Your Cakes

Room Temperature (1–2 days):
Keep your cake in a cool, dry place. Store under a cake dome or in a sealed container to prevent drying out.

Refrigeration (up to 5 days):
Ideal for cakes with fresh cream, fruits, or buttercream. Remove from the fridge at least 30 minutes before serving to restore softness.

Freezing (up to 3 months):
Wrap slices or whole cakes in cling film, then foil. Label with the date and defrost in the fridge overnight before serving.

Keep cakes and cupcakes out of direct sunlight. Cupcakes are best stored at room temperature and can be left in the box overnight. They will last up to 5 days in an airtight container.

🚗 2. Transporting Your Cake

Short Distances (under 1 hour):
Use a sturdy cake box or carrier. Place the cake on a flat surface (e.g., car floor) — avoid seats or laps.

Longer Journeys:
Chill the cake before leaving to firm it up. Avoid sharp turns, hot cars, or direct sunlight. Drive gently (you’re transporting edible joy!).

Always hold the cake box from underneath to support the weight. Madame Socquet Cakes and More will not be responsible for products once they are handed over to the customer.

🧼 3. Handling & Serving

Use a long, sharp knife for clean slices (dip in warm water if needed). Always serve at room temperature unless otherwise noted. Leftovers? Store in an airtight container and refrigerate.

🎁 Bonus Tips

  • Cakes are best enjoyed within 48 hours of pickup/delivery.
  • Avoid strong-smelling items (like onions) near your cake — they can transfer scent!
  • If in doubt, treat it like a little cake treasure. Because it is. 💕
